Shiny, Happy Things
posted by John @ 9:57 PM
Steampunk d20 in Sunlight If you listened to our last show, Rich and I mentioned working on a new project, and moving in a new direction.  One of the stepping stones was the realization of a concept - a sculpted d20.  This is a 3-dimensional object made of stained glass using the Tiffany technique of construction using copper foil.  The difference is that this is a sealed piece with fairly precise geometric constraints.  During construction, I thought it'd be fun to decorate and number it in the Steampunk style.  This project was a way to experiment with new techniques and it has re-kindled my desire to create.  It caused me to pull all of my equipment and materials out of storage and leap face first into the void.  Enjoy this first taste.  More to come...

No Show For 7/21/08
posted by Rich @ 12:00 AM
It seems the damage from the giant, fire-breathing, flying Meerkat in Syracuse last weekend was worst than we originally thought, so we had to cancel our second show in a row.  Not to worry, we aren't going anywhere.  The last time I saw this kind of destruction was when a giant Ape made his way through Central NY on his way to Manhattan.

It is not know at this time whether the Meerkat was in search of a blond female human.

We will be back (hopefully) this weekend.

No Show For 7/14/08
posted by Rich @ 12:00 AM
Due to the attack of the giant, fire-breathing, flying Meerkat in Syracuse NY this weekend, we will not be able to bring you an episode of Bloodthirsty Vegetarians this week.  Thankfully no one was hurt, and we should be able to resume our regular programming, soon.

Cool Stuff

John and I did the hang today.

Normally we would have recorded a show or two today, but I wasn't in the right frame of mind to tape a show due to some work-related crap that's going on in my life right now.  In fact, I think I talked about that briefly on a recent show.  Instead, John and I got together and he showed me some techniques for doing Stained Glassery.  John and I recently had an idea for a project to do together and this was part of the process building up to a point where we can actually talk about it more. Despite the Wikipedia article to which I linked, in our project, church windows are nowhere to be found.
