Normally, we're not a tech-centric blog/podcast but this news story marks a significant milestone in the history of the computer biz. Today, Apple released a boot manager that enables their new line of Intel-based Macs to run Windows XP side-by-side. Even more significantly, they announced that this utility will be part of their upcoming release of their operating system codenamed "Leopard". (Word of advice: never name a product something that sounds like "Leper" if spoken quickly.) I've been toying with the idea of buying a Mac, and this was the last straw.
In other news, peace has spontaneously broken out in the Middle East, all US troops have been withdrawn from Iraq, Ireland has gained independence from the UK, cancer has been cured, and the official work day has been shortened to 1 hour.

Why would this make a difference to you John? If you budget some (it's not a small amount) towards software on the Mac - I use Adobe CS, SubEthaEdit, Cubase, Absynth, then what would you need to run under Windows?
OTOH if you don't want to spring for the software, you'll find you're always booting into Windows and it would be inconvenient to have any OS X software.
I may have mentioned on the show before that I'm a software developer and my target platform is Windows, .NET and IIS. So, I need a machine that can be a Windows development platform. But, for the rest of my activities, I agree that OSX would be the primary system. That makes the Mac a pretty ideal setup. If I wasn't doing Microsoft development, I wouldn't even care that that Macs can dual boot.
got me there ;)
