Recently I've had two people ask me if John and I are ever going to do interviews. In short the answer is YES, we just need a few odds and ends items before we can do this. It is our eventual goal, and I already have our first potential guest lined up, and he's excited to do it.
As always, we will keep you posted.

Sorry about being the bearer of bad news, but here's another one...

I'd make a joke about the Cone of Silence, but I just don't have it in me.

Well, it seems as though our file hosting provider has been having technical difficulties for the last 24 hours or thereabouts. So if you've been experiencing difficulties downloading our shows, that's why.
They had some lame excuse on their web page about how the problem was due to "network" and "server" problems, but their PR guy curiously seemed to dodge the questions about the large disc hovering over their facility during this crisis.

When exactly did INXS AGAIN become a band that mattered? Ignoring their TV show ROCK STAR, when was the last time we heard from them at ALL other than in 80's music blocks on low rated radio stations? :-)

I went to see bassist Seth Horan play a show tonight at a local college. I'm happy to tell you that he's as good a musician in person as he is on the recording that we played in show #0009. He also happens to be a great guy, and we'll certainly be playing more of his music in the future.
Actually, he gave me permission to play any of his material on the show. How awesome is that? Chalk one up for the good guys.
Sure, corporate irresponsibility is a major problem in this (and every other) country, but it is truly heartwarming to see them step up to the plate when people are in need. Here's a brief list of notable contributions to the Hurricane Katrina recovery effort:
In the last show, I was lamenting the lack of good news. Well, there it is.

I have enabled word verification for those posting comments on our blog. You know the drill, a really ugly, twisted, morphed, and generally unreadable word will be displayed and you will be asked to type the correct letters into a field, after which time your comment will be posted.
It's not pretty, but what's even LESS pretty in my estimation is spam. Think of it as a game. I do. :-)

Bob Denver died at the age of 70, Friday September 2nd in North Carolina from complications surrounding his cancer treatment.
Most people remember him from his portrayal of Gilligan, the zany first officer and shipwrecked island resident from the 1960's TV show GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, but I preferred his Maynard G. Krebs character from DOBIE GILLIS. Maynard was a Beatnick who really dug jazz.

More silliness, yet with serious overtones:
- Listener feedback from a southern hemispheroid.
- Vino: El Paso Winery, Barn Red dry table wine.
- Bass guitar at the front of the bus: Explanation by Seth Horan.
- Unforgiveably late Federal response to Hurricane Katrina. Please SEND CASH!
- More tunes: World Today by Rattlebasket.
- Rising gas prices, yeigh or neigh?
- Why won't Hollywood make a GOOD movie sequel?

Did you hear about the cowboy who bought a Dachshund because he heard someone say, "Get along little doggie"?
If you haven't already, please consider a generous donation to the Red Cross. Our fellow countrymen badly need our help.
As we mentioned in our last show, my MP3 player was murdered in Seattle by a careless TSA officer. They have a difficult job, and we all appreciate their attempts at making us safer. But, my player was not constructed to handle a 4-foot drop onto a terrazzo floor.
I am sad. I am very sad. That little guy was my inspiration to get into podcasting. It has made long trips and my daily commute somewhat tolerable. I was thinking about begging and asking if listeners could kick in a few dollars to reduce my replacement cost (no, I'm not holding out hope that the TSA will pay). Then I thought of something better...
Thousands upon thousands of people in Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas are suffering horribly right now. If you have a sympathetic bone in your body, please donate to the American Red Cross. Go to their site and click on the giant red DONATE button. You can contribute to their general fund or choose to send your donation to the hurricane relief fund.
