On a more serious note...
Well, we're getting close to actually producing audio segments. For those of you out there eagerly awaiting that, I'll explain where we are as of now.
The main and only holdup is that I have been unable to hook up with a friend to borrow a few pieces gear. For those who are interested, I'm talking about a Urei, LA-22, 2-channel compressor, and two Electrovoice PL-10 microphones that John and I will be using to mic ourselves. With luck I'll have it all on Saturday.
Today I was expecting the Gator GR6S rack case to arrive, in which I'll put all of this gear, but instead found a note from the UPS man saying that a signature was required for delivery. Nice. The guy I ordered that from didn't tell me about that, so I had to get ahold of UPS (fortunately where I work we have a UPS account and get priority access to their customer service people), and go pick it up in Rome. Driving to Rome sucks since the New Hartford facility is SO MUCH CLOSER. So much for efficiency.
So now I have the rack and have loaded it with all of the gear (that is in my possession), and wired it all together.
So yes, we're very close. If we don't have audio content within two weeks, I give you permission to find John and give him a Turkish Feet Beating.
[Oh how I hate this serious stuff...]

Oooooh, p..p..please! The Turkish kind is the BEST!
Yes, we're very close. We have audio equipment almost put together, our 'recording studio' is being prepared, our blog and feed is configured.. Before you know it we'll be aggravating you with out ACTUAL voices.
On a serious note (oh geez, Rich started an awful trend), I'd like to commend Rich on getting this audio gear organized so quickly. Our goal is to provide a quality audio experience from the start, and without his know-how and attention to detail we'd be just another podcast in a sea of static.

Excellent news! I eagerly await your first show. The segment on the dialectical deconstruction of the wit and wisdom of Clare Boothe Luce should be especially scintillating especially when juxtaposed with the post-modernist sensibilities of the music of ABBA. Bjorn Ulvaeus and Clare Boothe Luce! I couldn't ask for a better first show!

Wow. I appreciate the kind word. Although to be honest (oh no, not again) I feel like I'm the holdup right now. I'm really excited to do a show and feel like a slacker!

Greetings Rich! I look forward to checking out your audio when it's all up and running. I can sympathize with your AV woes being wholly ensconced with it in my 8-5 world as well, hence the reason I usually don't even give the computer a sideways glance when I walk in the door. I will however play with the settings on audio equiptment any chance I can get (gotta tweak it, it's a compulsion..)

Well, I picked up the compressor this afternoon, and I'll get the mics tomorrow.
The tech says the comp is fine, but after plugging it in and looking at the way the meters behave without any signal going into the unit makes me suspicious.
